Bela stone is prized for its light, consistent colour. Where darker stone absorbs heat and reads heavy on a large elevation, Bela keeps a facade bright and visually cool, which matters a great deal in the Gujarat climate.
Bela has a close, uniform grain and very little veining, so a wall built from it reads as a single calm surface rather than a collage of patterns. That makes it a natural choice where the stone is meant to be a backdrop, behind planting, around a pool, or as a field against which a carved gate or a timber door becomes the focus.
The consistency that makes Bela attractive also makes careless selection obvious, a single off-colour block stands out on a pale wall. We sort every delivery by tone before laying and distribute any variation deliberately across the elevation rather than letting it cluster. Joints are kept fine, and we use a matched light mortar so the jointing does not draw a grid across the face.
Its pale surface reflects rather than stores solar gain, so walls stay cooler to the touch through the afternoon and radiate less heat back into courtyards and verandas in the evening. On west-facing elevations this is a real, noticeable comfort difference, not just an aesthetic one.
